HUB CAR SHARE – Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern all rentals with Hub Car Share. By booking, picking up, or operating any of our vehicles, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, including the Protection Addendum integrated herein.
1. Rental Agreement & Eligibility
To rent a vehicle from Hub Car Share, you must:
- Be at least 21 years of age (some vehicles may require 25+)
- Hold a valid driver's license issued by a U.S. state or recognized foreign country
- Provide a valid credit or debit card in your name for payment and security deposit
- Present valid identification at the time of pickup
Hub Car Share reserves the right to refuse a rental to any individual who does not meet these requirements or whose driving record raises safety concerns.
2. Vehicle Use Restrictions
The rented vehicle may only be operated by:
- The named renter (primary driver)
- Additional drivers explicitly authorized and listed on the rental agreement
The vehicle must be used lawfully and only for personal use.
The following uses are strictly prohibited and will void all coverage:
- Racing, speed contests, or any competitive driving events
- Towing or pushing any vehicle, trailer, or other object (unless expressly authorized in writing)
- Off-road driving (unless the vehicle is specifically designated for such use)
- Commercial ride-sharing services (e.g., Uber, Lyft) or delivery services
- Transporting illegal goods, drugs, or contraband
- Operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Reckless, negligent, or abusive operation
Any violation of these restrictions automatically voids all protection and coverage options.
3. Fuel Policy
Vehicles are provided with a specific fuel level noted on your rental agreement. You are required to return the vehicle with the same fuel level.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than at pickup, Hub Car Share will charge:
- The cost of fuel required to restore the original level
- A fuel service fee to cover the administrative cost and time
Fuel charges are calculated at prevailing local rates plus applicable service fees and will be charged to your payment method on file.
4. Tolls & Administrative Charges
You are responsible for all tolls incurred during your rental period.
Hub Car Share will:
- Process toll charges post-trip and bill them to your payment method on file
- Apply an administrative fee per toll transaction to cover processing costs
Important: Tolls are NOT included in your rental unless explicitly stated in your reservation confirmation.
If you wish to avoid administrative fees, you may use your own toll transponder or pay tolls directly at toll plazas where available.
5. Damage, Loss & Incident Reporting
You are responsible for all damage to, loss of, or theft of the vehicle during your rental period, including:
- Body damage, scratches, dents, or paint damage
- Glass, mirrors, or lights
- Tires, wheels, undercarriage, and mechanical components
- Interior damage (stains, burns, tears, or excessive soiling)
- Loss of vehicle keys, accessories, or equipment
Mandatory Reporting Requirements
You MUST report any incident or damage immediately by contacting Hub Car Share at +1 (754) 219-8300.
A police report is required within 24 hours for incidents including, but not limited to, collision, theft, vandalism, third-party liability, or personal property loss. These examples are not exclusive or determinative; a police report is required for all claims in order to validate coverage.
Failure to obtain and provide a police report will result in automatic denial of all protection coverage and you will be held fully liable for all damages, losses, and associated costs.
