Rental Information
Here you'll find the most important practical information about renting a car with Hub Car Share in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. This page is a friendly overview and does not replace your Rental Agreement or our full Rental Terms.
1. Before You Book
Driver requirements
- Minimum age: 21 years for most vehicles.
- Some vehicle categories (for example, premium and specialty vehicles) may require drivers to be 25+.
- A valid, physical driver's license held for at least 1 year with no major suspensions in the last 3 years.
- Digital-only or "virtual" licenses are not accepted. Temporary paper licenses must be accompanied by a government ID.
International renters
- Passport and valid driver's license from your home country.
- If your license is not in English or Spanish, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is recommended.
- We may ask for proof of return travel (return flight or onward ticket).
Payment & security deposit
- A valid payment method is required at booking. The name on the card must match the primary driver.
- A security deposit or authorization hold may be placed on your card at the beginning of the rental, depending on vehicle type and protection package.
- The deposit is released after the vehicle is returned in the same condition, minus any additional charges (tolls, fuel, miles, damage, cleaning, etc.).
2. Pick-Up & Return
Airport & local pick-up
- We operate primarily from airport parking facilities and our warehouse locations in the Miami / Fort Lauderdale area.
- Before your trip starts, you will receive detailed pick-up instructions via SMS, WhatsApp, or email with the exact location of your vehicle.
- Please make sure the contact phone and email in your booking are correct so you don't miss important messages.
Early pick-up & late return
- Rentals are based on the reserved pick-up and return times shown in your confirmation.
- Early pick-up and late return are subject to vehicle availability and may generate additional charges.
- Please contact us as soon as you know you will be early or late so we can try to accommodate your request.
Condition at check-in & check-out
- At the beginning of your trip, our team records the mileage, fuel level, and photos of the vehicle.
- You must also take your own photos at pick-up and return. This helps protect both you and us if there is a damage claim.
- Any new damage, missing equipment, or abnormal use may result in additional charges according to our Rental Terms.
3. Fuel, Mileage & Tolls
Fuel policy
- Vehicles are delivered with a specific fuel level (often full or on a documented level) and should be returned at the same level.
- If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refueling service charge will apply in addition to the cost of fuel.
- Please always use the correct fuel type indicated inside the fuel door or in the owner's manual.
Mileage policy
- Your booking confirmation states whether your rental includes unlimited miles or a daily mileage allowance.
- If there is a limit, additional mileage is charged per mile at the rate shown in your Rental Agreement.
- We log the odometer at pick-up and return to calculate any extra mileage.
Tolls, tickets & violations
- Many Florida highways and bridges use cashless tolls. Our vehicles may be equipped with an electronic transponder or plate tolling.
- Tolls incurred during your rental are billed to you after your trip, plus a small administrative fee per rental or per day (see your Rental Agreement).
- Parking tickets, fines, and traffic violations are your responsibility and may also include an admin fee if processed by us.
4. Protection, Damage & Cleaning
Protection options
During booking, you can choose between different protection options (for example: basic state-mandated liability only, partial damage protection, or higher coverage options). Each tier has different deductibles and exclusions. The exact details appear in your Rental Agreement and protection description.
What to do in case of an accident
- Make sure everyone is safe and call emergency services if needed.
- Contact us as soon as possible using the phone number or WhatsApp in your confirmation.
- Take photos of all vehicles involved, license plates, driver licenses, insurance details, and the scene.
- Do not accept fault or negotiate on behalf of Hub Car Share without our authorization.
Cleaning & smoking policy
- Smoking or vaping inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited and may result in a significant cleaning fee.
- Excessive dirt, sand, pet hair, spills, or odors may also result in additional cleaning charges.
- We recommend returning the vehicle in a "normal" clean condition (no trash, no strong odors, no major stains).
5. Changes, Extensions & Cancellations
- If you need to change your dates, times, or vehicle category, please contact us as early as possible so we can check availability.
- Extensions are not guaranteed and depend on whether the vehicle is already booked for the next customer.
- Cancellation rules and fees depend on the rate you selected during booking. Please refer to your confirmation email and Rental Terms for details.
6. Questions or Special Requests?
If you have any questions about your upcoming rental, special requests, or you're not sure which vehicle or protection option is best for your trip, our team is happy to help.
